TLDR Herbal shampoos are as effective and safer than synthetic antifungal shampoos for treating Seborrheic dermatitis.
The study evaluated six herbal shampoos containing Rutin, Eugenol, Camphor, and Menthol for their antifungal activity against Candida albicans, the cause of Seborrheic dermatitis. Results indicated that these herbal shampoos were as effective as the synthetic antifungal shampoo Ketocip in inhibiting Candida albicans growth. The natural ingredients in the herbal shampoos disrupt the cell walls of Candida yeast cells, leading to cell death and infection clearance. The study concludes that these herbal shampoos are a safe and effective alternative to synthetic antifungal shampoos, which often have side effects.
