TLDR Curcuma anti-acne gel effectively reduces acne symptoms.
The study aimed to establish a rabbit ear acne model using coal tar to test the effects of an anti-acne gel containing curcuma (AGC). Thirty male rabbits were divided into five groups: model, base, AGC low dosage, AGC high dosage, and positive control. After inducing acne, treatments were applied daily for 3 weeks. Results showed that AGC, both low and high dosages, and Tretinoin Cream reduced ear thickness, comedo presence, and histological signs of acne. The conclusion was that AGC effectively reduced hair follicle area, sebaceous gland diameter, epidermal thickness, and dermal inflammatory cell infiltration.
