    This clinical case study discusses a 25-year-old patient with a history of gender dysphoria (GD) who developed severe restrictive anorexia nervosa (AN) while living in a shelter for domestic violence victims. The patient was treated with sertraline, diazepam, olanzapine, and hormonal therapy, and was discharged after 40 days. The study highlights the overlap between eating disorders and gender dysphoria, suggesting that eating disorder symptoms in GD patients might serve as a coping mechanism to manage body image issues related to their biological sex. The authors call for a holistic approach to treatment and further research to understand the relationship between weight loss and GD-related psychopathology.
