TLDR Annurca apple supplement safely increases hair growth and keratin in humans.
The study focused on the effects of Annurca apple nutraceutical formulation (AMS) on hair growth and keratin expression. In vitro tests on human skin cells showed that AMS significantly increased keratin content. A clinical trial with 250 patients demonstrated that AMS, containing Annurca apple extract, biotin, selenium, and zinc, significantly increased hair number by 125.2%, hair weight by 42.1%, and keratin content by 40.1% after 2 months. The full analysis set of the trial included 87 participants, with 83 completing the study. Results indicated increases in hair growth, weight, and keratin content by 118.3%, 37.3%, and 35.7%, respectively. The study concluded that AMS is safe and effective in promoting hair growth and keratin expression, with potential benefits for hair development and homeostasis. The findings suggest that the Annurca apple supplement could be a viable alternative to pharmaceutical treatments for pattern baldness, without associated side effects.
