TLDR The young goat had anaplasmosis and copper deficiency.
A 4-month-old Salem Black kid presented with alopecia and other symptoms such as depigmentation and pale mucosa. Dermatological tests ruled out ectoparasites and hair growth issues, while blood tests confirmed Anaplasma ovis infection and normochromic microcytic anemia. PCR tests were positive for Anaplasma ovis. Biochemical analysis showed copper deficiency and elevated bilirubin, creatinine kinase, and LDH levels. The diagnosis was anaplasmosis with concurrent copper deficiency, based on clinical findings and treatment response.
