TLDR Better models and evaluation methods for alopecia areata are needed.
The study analyzed the production methods and characteristics of animal models for alopecia areata (AA) in both traditional Chinese and Western medicine. It found that current models were insufficient in reflecting the clinical symptoms of AA and lacked proper evaluation methods. The study concluded that developing feasible evaluation methods and disease models that accurately represent AA should be the focus of future research.
