TLDR Amla oil may help treat hair loss.
The study formulated amla oil based on Iranian traditional medicine for hair loss treatment and assessed its quality. Phyllanthus emblica fruits and Myrtus communis leaves were used, with the final product being yellow with a sesame odor. The oil had an acid value of 3.03 mg KOH/g, viscosity of 102.8 cp, density of 0.966 g/mL, total phenolics of 0.2%, and total tannins of 0.05%. It had no saponification value or microbial contamination. The results indicated that the amla oil had proper physicochemical and microbial quality, suggesting its potential for hair loss treatment pending clinical trials.
