TLDR COVID-19 may trigger alopecia areata, but more research is needed.
This study investigated the clinical characteristics and treatment responses of patients who developed alopecia areata (AA) following COVID-19 infection or vaccination. The findings suggest a potential link between COVID-19 and the onset of AA, although the exact pathogenesis and association remain unclear. The study highlights the need for further research to better understand the mechanisms involved.
