TLDR White hairs often regrow in alopecia areata patches.
In a retrospective analysis of 258 cases of alopecia areata (AA), researchers aimed to characterize patients with poliosis by comparing clinical parameters of AA cases with and without poliosis. The study found that it was not uncommon to observe white hairs regrown at previous patches of AA. This research provided a broader understanding of the occurrence and characteristics of poliosis in AA patients, which had previously been mostly documented through case reports.
