TLDR Using Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company can save money on men's health medications compared to Medicare.
The study evaluates the cost savings of using the Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company (CPDC) and GoodRx for men's health medications compared to Medicare. Analyzing nine commonly prescribed drugs for conditions like erectile dysfunction and benign prostatic hyperplasia, the study found that CPDC offers significant savings, with total costs for 30-, 60-, and 90-count supplies being $760 million, $447 million, and $340 million, respectively, compared to Medicare's $970 million. CPDC was cheaper for most drugs, especially for erectile dysfunction treatments, and generally more affordable than GoodRx. The findings suggest that adopting transparent, low-cost pharmacy models like CPDC could enhance medication adherence and reduce financial barriers for patients.
