This study evaluated adverse events from azathioprine treatment in 174 Korean pediatric inflammatory bowel disease patients. Adverse events occurred in 56.3% of patients, leading to dose reduction in 17.8% and discontinuation in 10.3%. The most common adverse event was bone marrow suppression (27.0%), followed by gastrointestinal disturbances (15.5%), hair loss (12.1%), and pancreatitis (7.5%). The findings highlighted the need for close monitoring of adverse events in this patient population.
