TLDR Combining Nanofat with PRP is a safe and effective treatment for female pattern hair loss.
The study evaluated the effectiveness of combining Nanofat, which contains Adipose Derived Stem Cells (ADSCs), with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) in treating Female Pattern Hair Loss (FPHL) in 20 female patients aged 18 to 50. Over a 6-month period, significant improvements were observed, with the mean terminal hair count increasing from 73.90 to 120.05 hair/cm² and terminal hair thickness increasing from 0.044 to 0.062. Vellus hair count decreased significantly from 46.60 to 25.20, while vellus hair thickness increased from 0.020 to 0.026. The procedure was well-tolerated, with no adverse side effects reported, indicating it is a safe and effective treatment option for FPHL.

Scalp biopsies are crucial for diagnosing hair loss conditions like Diffuse Unpatterned Alopecia (DUPA) and retrograde hair loss, as treatments like finasteride and dutasteride may not be effective if other conditions are present. Combining PPAR-GAMMA agonists with retinoids could improve treatments for conditions like Lichen Planopilaris.
