TLDR A man developed heart problems after using a baldness treatment for 4 months, suggesting that people with heart issues should avoid this treatment.
In 1999, a 45-year-old Japanese man with a history of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation developed acute myocardial infarction (MI) after using 1% topical minoxidil (RiUP®) for baldness treatment for 4 months. The patient had no history of hypertension, obesity, diabetes mellitus, or family history of coronary artery disease. Coronary angiography revealed severe stenosis at the proximal portion of the left anterior descending coronary artery. The report suggested that while it may be difficult to directly link topical minoxidil use to myocardial ischemia, increased awareness of its potential toxicity was necessary. It was recommended that patients with cardiovascular disorders should be excluded from the therapy.

Using minoxidil twice daily may offer around 20% better regrowth compared to once daily, but once daily is still effective, especially with dermastamping. The user also uses dutasteride and finasteride daily, and is considering increasing minoxidil application despite concerns about cost and potential shedding.

community Can I use trichosol minoxidil before sleep?

in Minoxidil  3 upvotes 1 week ago
The user applies 2ml of a lotion containing 5% minoxidil, 0.3% finasteride, hydrocortisone butyrate, and cetirizine before bed, but it leaves a residue on the scalp. Another user suggests reducing the amount to 1ml, as 2ml results in a high finasteride dosage.
