TLDR The study created a numerical system to describe and compare 601 jobs in Japan.
The study developed numerical criteria for 601 occupations in Japan by gathering rated scores from 24,000 employed individuals using web-based job analysis, referencing the U.S. Department of Labor’s O*NET project. This approach allowed for the quantification of 30 aspects related to knowledge, skills, work environments, interests, and values for each occupation. The research provided a method to quantitatively express relationships among occupations and their correspondence with vocational aptitude tests, forming a foundation for future quantitative occupational studies.
