A case report of lupus panniculitis-induced facial lipoatrophy successfully treated with injectable hyaluronic acid

This case report describes a 37-year-old female with lupus panniculitis-induced facial lipoatrophy successfully treated with injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) filler. After experiencing lipoatrophy on her right cheek following a period of quiescent disease, the patient underwent multiple sessions of HA filler injections, resulting in effective and sustained volume restoration over 6 months. The treatment was performed during a post-inflammatory state, and the patient reported high satisfaction with no complications. The report highlights the potential of HA fillers as a treatment option for facial lipoatrophy in lupus panniculitis, though larger controlled studies are needed to further investigate this approach.
