TLDR Managing malignant ureteral obstruction is challenging and requires personalized treatment to protect kidney function and patient health.
Malignant ureteral obstruction (MUO), whether caused by a primary urological tumor or secondary to a late-stage malignancy, posed significant management challenges for urologists due to limited clinical data. Each case required individual assessment, as the absence of specific treatments could severely impact renal function and patient life expectancy. The primary goal was to promptly restore renal function, but even after addressing the obstruction, managing life-threatening post-obstructive diuresis was crucial.
