    This study investigated the association of electrolytes, trace elements, and vitamin C with kidney function in 100 Iraqi celiac patients not on a gluten-free diet, compared to 57 healthy controls. The results indicated a significant increase in serum urea and creatinine levels in celiac patients, suggesting a potential risk of renal dysfunction. However, electrolyte levels remained unchanged. Additionally, levels of trace elements (magnesium and zinc) and vitamin C were significantly decreased in celiac patients compared to healthy controls. These findings highlight the importance of monitoring these biochemical markers in celiac patients to assess and manage potential kidney function risks.
