TLDR Men with lower 2nd to 4th finger ratios tend to have larger sinus volumes.
In 2018, Hasan Emre Koçak and his team conducted a study with 41 male participants aged 21-39 years to investigate the relationship between the 2nd and 4th digit ratio (2D:4D) and the maxillary sinus (MS) volume. The 2D:4D ratio is a non-invasive indicator of intrauterine androgen balance and androgen receptor sensitivity. The study found a significant negative correlation between the 2D:4D ratio and the right, left, and average MS volumes, suggesting the androgenic hormone effect on the sinus volume during development. The researchers recommended further studies with more participants for a better understanding of this relationship.
