December 2001 in “Endoscopy” A 56-year-old woman with Cronkhite-Canada syndrome exhibited symptoms including chronic diarrhea, alopecia, hyperpigmentation, and nail dystrophy. Endoscopic and radiologic examinations revealed multiple polyps throughout her gastrointestinal tract. Histopathology showed edema and chronic inflammation. Initial treatment with hyperalimentation improved her symptoms temporarily, but diarrhea recurred. Subsequent treatment with prednisolone and Bactrim led to significant clinical improvement, including cessation of diarrhea, increased serum protein levels, disappearance of pigmentation, and regrowth of scalp hair.
