TLDR Vinegar-processed black soybean helps hair growth and prevents hair loss.
The study explores the effects of vinegar-processed black soybean (VPBS) and its aqueous extract (VPBS-AE) on hair growth and alopecia prevention in 48 female C57BL/6J mice. The findings indicate that VPBS and VPBS-AE significantly promote hair growth and prevent alopecia, likely through the activation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. VPBS-AE was particularly effective at doses of 0.3 g/kg, enhancing hair follicle density, increasing dermal thickness, and reducing follicular vacuolization. The study also highlights VPBS-AE's potential in mitigating cyclophosphamide-induced alopecia, suggesting it as a promising natural treatment for alopecia, although further research is needed to identify its active components.
