TLDR Many people with hair loss have low vitamin D levels.
The study assessed vitamin D3 levels in 100 patients (27 men and 73 women) aged 18-50 suffering from hair loss. The average age was 29.5 years, and the average serum vitamin D level was 17.26 ng/mL. It found that 66% of these patients had vitamin D deficiency, with a significantly higher prevalence in women (P<0.001). The conclusion highlighted the noteworthy prevalence of vitamin D deficiency among individuals with hair loss.

Low vitamin D levels can negatively impact hair growth, and supplementing with vitamin D, along with treatments like finasteride and minoxidil, may help improve hair health. Quitting smoking and ensuring adequate vitamin B12 and K2 intake are also suggested to support hair regrowth.
