Assessment of Vitamin D Levels in Patients Presenting with Different Medical Conditions and Its Correlation with Symptomatology

    This study assessed vitamin D levels in 400 patients with various medical conditions in Pakistan, revealing a significant deficiency in the urban population. The majority of participants, 76% female and 24% male, had severe vitamin D deficiency (66%), with only 13.25% having normal levels. Common symptoms included generalized body weakness (90%), depression/anxiety (60%), and bone/joint pains (22%). Notably, 99.2% of those with severe deficiency were symptomatic. The findings highlighted a widespread vitamin D deficiency in a well-fed urban population, correlating with various health symptoms.
