TLDR Different staff in a dermatology clinic understand mostly their own tasks, not the full clinic process.
The study from the University of Rochester used interviews and a novel methodology called ThreadNet to analyze the perspectives of various roles within a dermatology clinic, including physicians, residents, LPNs, technicians, and office staff. It found that different staff members had varying levels of awareness of the overall clinic visit process, with LPNs having the most complete view at 37%, followed by office staff and residents at 25% and 27% respectively, and physicians having the best view at 54%. The conclusion was that staff are mostly aware of their own tasks rather than the full clinic process, and the study suggested that educational interventions could enhance understanding, efficiency, and care quality.
