The study compared the effectiveness of horizontal and vertical methods in assessing scalp mobility for hair transplant surgery in 15 patients. It found that the vertical method provided a significantly larger donor strip area (49.1 cm² vs. 42.0 cm²) and more hairs (6762.5 vs. 5792.8) than the horizontal method, with a 12.8% increase in width and 969.7 additional hairs available for harvesting.
