TLDR Uveodermatological syndrome in dogs is hard to manage and can lead to blindness despite treatment.
Uveodermatological syndrome in dogs is a disease with suspected autoimmune and genetic origins, characterized by symptoms such as skin depigmentation, alopecia, poliosis, and granulomatous panuveitis. Secondary complications like cataracts and glaucoma are common due to ongoing intraocular inflammation. While immunosuppressive therapy can be effective, recurrence is frequent, and managing the condition is challenging due to potential adverse effects from medications, which are necessary to prevent irreversible blindness.
