Untersuchungen zur Wirkung des Nahrungsergänzungsmittels Haarpower® auf das exzessive Haaren ansonsten gesunder Hunde

In this study, 21 healthy dogs with excessive shedding were given either the supplement Haarpower® (n=17) or a placebo (n=4) for three months. The study aimed to assess the effect of Haarpower®, which contains Spiraea ulmaria extracts, on reducing hair loss. Various factors such as age, breed, and lifestyle were recorded, and shedding was evaluated using scales and hair specimen analysis. Results showed no significant improvement in shedding for dogs on either the supplement or placebo. Although owners reported a decrease in perceived hair loss severity from 7.6 to 5.5 on a visual analogue scale after treatment with Haarpower®, objective measures of hair loss did not show significant changes.
