TLDR The triple wavelength laser is effective, safe, and well-tolerated for hair reduction in Indian women.
This prospective clinical study evaluated the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of a triple wavelength laser for hair reduction in 85 Indian women with Fitzpatrick skin types III and IV. Participants underwent six sessions, resulting in a significant mean hair count reduction of 86.5% (p < 0.0001), with better results for terminal hair compared to vellus hair. The axillae and lower limbs showed faster responses than facial areas. The Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale rated 65-70% of participants as "very much improved." Adverse events were mild and transient, including perifollicular erythema, itching, and edema. The treatment was well tolerated, with a mean Visual Analogue Scale score of 2.1. Overall, the triple wavelength laser therapy proved to be highly effective, safe, and well tolerated for hair reduction in this demographic.
