TLDR Trichostasis spinulosa is a rare skin condition with hair-filled plugs in hair follicles.
Trichostasis spinulosa is a rare disorder first observed by Galewsky in 1907, involving a man with a pustular folliculitis and an unnoticed alopecia area on his abdomen. This area, larger than an orange, had follicles filled with blackish, horny plugs containing bundles of lanugo hairs. These keratotic masses protruded beyond the plugs and could be easily removed. The patient experienced no symptoms and did not return for further observation.
