TLDR A 23-year-old Syrian woman has two rare hair disorders, and avoiding hair treatments plus using vitamins and minoxidil may help.
This case report describes a 23-year-old Syrian woman with coexisting Pili Annulati (PA) and Trichorrhexis Nodosa (TN), both rare hair shaft disorders. PA is characterized by alternating dark and light bands in the hair, while TN involves brittle, dry hair prone to breakage. The patient exhibited symptoms of both conditions, including glistening hair with white nodules and broken ends. Trichoscopy and light microscopy confirmed the presence of PA and TN. The report highlights the need for further research into the genetic and structural mechanisms underlying these disorders and suggests avoiding heat and chemical treatments as part of the management plan. This case adds to the limited literature on the co-occurrence of PA and TN, emphasizing the importance of understanding their relationship for better clinical management.

The user experiencing diffuse hair loss is using various treatments including RU58841, finasteride, minoxidil with tretinoin, anti-hair loss shampoo, and microneedling, and is considering adding peptides TB500, BPC157, and GHK-Cu. They have low growth hormone levels and are questioning its impact on hair loss, while another user suggests androgenic alopecia and androgens are likely the main cause of hair loss.
