TLDR Trichofolliculoma is a rare, benign scalp tumor that can be cured by surgical removal.
Trichofolliculoma is a rare, benign tumor originating from hair follicle cells, often misdiagnosed due to its similarity to other follicular lesions. In a reported case, a 47-year-old woman had a 5 mm scalp nodule, which was diagnosed as trichofolliculoma after histological examination. Accurate diagnosis relies on recognizing its specific immunophenotype. Trichofolliculoma should be considered in differential diagnoses for scalp masses, and complete surgical excision is typically curative with rare recurrence.
