TLDR Brodalumab effectively treated a man's severe hand and foot psoriasis.
The document described the case of a 66-year-old Japanese man with a long-standing history of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, who experienced significant improvement in his palmoplantar pustular psoriasis (PPPP) symptoms after treatment with brodalumab, an anti-IL-17 receptor A antibody. Previous treatments with adalimumab and secukinumab were unsuccessful, but after starting brodalumab, the patient's pustules and other palmoplantar lesions improved within weeks, and the positive results were maintained over a year without adverse effects or psoriasis flares. This case highlights brodalumab as a potential effective treatment for PPPP and contributes to the understanding of IL-17's role in the disease's pathogenesis.
