TLDR Double trichophytic closure effectively treats thin scalp scars and reduces patient costs.
The purpose of this study was to describe how to easily treat a thin linear scar on the scalp by applying double trichophytic closure. Double trichophytic closure is applied in the case of a linear scar, where hairs on both sides of the scar face in the opposite direction from the wound center. The technique seems to be an easy and effective method for a thin linear scar repair without an additional incision and can reduce the financial burden of a patient. When the scar width is more than 4 mm, the scar heals in the wound that is narrower than the previous suture, but it may be open completely or partially. In this case, resuture using a combination of double trichophytic closure and other treatments, including flaps and a hair transplant, is used.

The conversation is about the double standard in the hair loss community regarding shedding when using different treatments. The conclusion is that shedding is considered normal when starting finasteride or minoxidil, but not when starting dutasteride, despite the fact that dutasteride is more effective at reducing DHT.
