TLDR Travoprost can help eyelash growth but may cause darkening around the eyes.
The study discussed the use of travoprost, a prostaglandin analog, for treating alopecia areata of the eyelashes. It was observed that while travoprost could promote eyelash growth, it also caused periocular pigmentation as a side effect. This pigmentation was noted around the eyes, which could be a cosmetic concern for patients. The findings highlighted the need for clinicians to weigh the benefits of eyelash regrowth against the potential for unwanted pigmentation when considering travoprost for alopecia areata treatment.
