TLDR Educators who survived COVID-19 faced physical, psychological, and social challenges but overcame them with resilience and support, highlighting the need for schools to provide better health and psychological care.
The document presents a qualitative study on the experiences of educators who contracted and survived COVID-19, focusing on their personal and professional challenges during the pandemic. The study, which involved 12 educators from Cabanatuan City, identified five major themes: initial reactions to infection, psychosocial distress, coping mechanisms, life lessons learned, and proposed policies for educational institutions. Participants reported severe physical symptoms, psychological difficulties such as depression and anxiety, and social disturbances like isolation and discrimination. The study highlighted the importance of resilience, self-efficacy, and social support in overcoming the illness. It also emphasized the need for educational institutions to implement supportive policies for employees during health crises, including comprehensive health benefits and psychological support, to ensure the continuity of education and the well-being of educators.
