TLDR Excessive vitamin A intake can cause eye damage, but recovery is possible with proper treatment.
This article discusses a rare clinical case of toxic keratitis caused by hypervitaminosis A, resulting from excessive intake of vitamin A. Hypervitaminosis A can occur from both acute and chronic overdoses, leading to various symptoms including skin issues, hair loss, and severe conditions like toxic hepatitis and coma. The patient in this case successfully recovered from keratitis and restored corneal integrity through long-term use of taurine-containing eye drops.
