TLDR The girl's scalp infection healed well with terbinafine treatment.
A 10-year-old Peruvian girl in Japan presented with alopecia characterized by multiple small, scattered patches on her scalp, along with follicular pustules, erythemic nodules, and lymphadenopathy. The causative agent was identified as Trichophyton tonsurans through culture and genetic analysis. Treatment with 125 mg of terbinafine daily led to a satisfactory response, with the lesion healing almost completely.
