TLDR The treatment increased hair growth and thickness in patients with hair loss.
The study investigated the effects of a Growth Factor Cocktail (GFC) containing fibroblast growth factor 5 short (FGF5s) and nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) on patients with androgenetic alopecia (AGA) using microneedle technology. Over 3 months, 20 patients (11 males and 9 females) received six treatments, with one side of the scalp treated with the GFC and the other with normal saline. Results showed increased hair density and diameter on the side treated with GFC, while no changes were observed on the saline-treated side. The study concluded that GFC with FGF5s and NMN is an effective and safe treatment for AGA, recommending further research in controlled settings.
