THE INSUSCEPTIBILITY OF C57 BLACK MICE TO POST-IRRADIATION LEUKEMIA, SOME UNREPORTED POST-IRRADIATION CHANGES
TLDR CXCL7 is essential for muscle repair by aiding early neutrophil infiltration.
This study investigates the role of platelet-released chemokines in muscle repair in mice, specifically focusing on CXCL7. The research demonstrates that platelet-secreted CXCL7 is crucial for early neutrophil infiltration to injured muscles, which is necessary for effective muscle regeneration. In Cxcl7-knockout and neutrophil-depleted mice, impaired neutrophil infiltration leads to suboptimal neo-angiogenesis and muscle recovery. These findings suggest that the CXCL7 signaling pathway could be targeted to enhance muscle regeneration therapeutically.
