TLDR Post-COVID-19 patients are at risk for hair loss.
The study aimed to investigate the relationship between post-COVID-19 infection and the occurrence of telogen effluvium (hair loss) in patients at Klinik Sukma from January to February 2023. Using a chi-square method with questionnaires and pull tests, the study found that 35 out of 63 post-COVID-19 patients (55.6%) experienced hair loss. However, the statistical analysis did not show a significant relationship between COVID-19 infection and hair loss (p=0.471). Despite this, COVID-19 patients were found to be 1.2 times more likely to experience hair loss. The study concludes that post-COVID-19 patients are at risk for telogen effluvium, and further multivariate analysis on other factors is needed.
