This document contains three brief communications. The first discusses the potential relationship between telogen effluvium (hair loss) and topical minoxidil treatment for baldness. Two patients experienced telogen effluvium during treatment with topical minoxidil, but it is unclear if the treatment caused the hair loss. The second communication reports a case of atypical Sweet's syndrome in a patient with hairy cell leukemia. The patient developed a vasculitic eruption and subcutaneous nodules, and ultimately died from sepsis and pulmonary embolism. The third communication discusses the potential role of cocaine in the development of immunogenic talc granulomas in patients who use the drug.
