Tea and Tea Product Diversification: A Review

    TLDR Diversifying tea products can boost profits and meet global market demands.
    Tea is the second most consumed drink globally and is valued for its health benefits due to antioxidants and minerals. It is categorized into green, Oolong, and black tea based on processing. The tea industry significantly contributes to the economies of major tea-producing countries like China, India, and Kenya. However, low market prices and high production costs necessitate product diversification to increase profits. This review highlights the development of various tea products, including nutraceutical beverages, confectionery items, toiletries, and cosmeceuticals, which are gaining consumer acceptance and facing global marketing challenges.
