TLDR A new platinum complex was made and studied, which might help fight cancer better.
The document reports the synthesis and structural characterization of a new dinuclear platinum(III) complex, [Pt2Cl4(NH3)2{μ-HN=C(O)But}2], which features two butyl(amidato) bridging ligands in a head-to-tail configuration. This complex was characterized using nuclear magnetic resonance (1H and 195Pt NMR) and infrared spectroscopy, and its crystal structure was determined via X-ray single-crystal diffraction. This is the first reported dinuclear Pt(III) complex with such a configuration, potentially contributing to overcoming cisplatin resistance in cancer treatment.
