TLDR A calcified nodule on a boy's face came from hair follicles and expelled calcium through the skin.
A subepidermal calcified nodule was observed on the face of a 15-year-old Negro boy, with histological examination indicating its origin in both mature and immature hair follicles. Previous studies suggested that such nodules could also originate in nevi or sweat glands. This case additionally noted the transepidermal elimination of calcium.
