TLDR Men with hair loss feel it affects their emotions and life quality, and want more effective treatments.
A sociological study conducted from March 1, 2019, to August 31, 2019, surveyed 150 men aged 18 to 66 with visible androgenic alopecia in Ukraine to assess the impact of the condition on their psychoemotional state and their willingness to undergo pharmacotherapy. The study found that 48.7% of participants believe androgenic alopecia affects their emotional state and quality of life. Furthermore, 90% of respondents expressed a need for a wider range of effective treatments in the pharmaceutical market, with 36.7% willing to spend between 200 to 500 hryvnias for effective pharmacotherapy. The results indicate that androgenic alopecia negatively affects men's psychoemotional well-being and that there is a demand for effective treatment options.
