TLDR Some COVID-19 patients in Saudi Arabia had skin symptoms, with rashes being the most common.
This cross-sectional observational study conducted in Saudi Arabia included 464 previously-infected adult residents with COVID-19. The study found that 9.1% of the participants reported skin symptoms during their COVID-19 infection. The most common locations for these symptoms were all-over the body (1.5%), arms (1.3%), face or upper body (1.3%), and fingers (1.3%). The participants experienced various skin symptoms including morbilliform rash (3.5%), maculopapular rash (1.3%), urticaria (0.9%), livedo reticularis (0.2%), and 5.4% experienced miscellaneous skin symptoms. The study concludes by suggesting more research into the prevalence and patterns of skin symptoms accompanying COVID-19 infection.
