The study investigates the effects of inositol on alopecia in rats fed a synthetic diet containing sulfasuxidine. It was found that the inclusion of sulfasuxidine leads to symmetrical alopecia in rats. However, when inositol is supplemented in their diet, the onset of alopecia is prevented. Additionally, rats receiving inositol supplementation exhibit better growth and a more tidy appearance, indicating the beneficial role of inositol in counteracting the adverse effects of sulfasuxidine on hair health.
