Review of the ISHRS Regional Workshop for Assistant Training May 1-3, 2015, Denver, Colorado

The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) held a workshop for assistants in Denver in 2015, aimed at providing up-to-date information on the various tasks involved in hair restoration surgery. The workshop was designed to improve the training process for new staff, which traditionally relied on older members teaching new ones, a method that could perpetuate errors and was not usually open to new ideas and instruments. The assistants' role in hair restoration surgery, under the surgeon's oversight, includes dissecting, trimming, preserving, and implanting grafts while maintaining their full viability. The workshop was reported to have been successful.
