TLDR Regenerative medicine in Malaysia shows promise for treating diseases but faces ethical and safety challenges.
The document reviewed the advancements in regenerative medicine therapy (RMT) in Malaysia, highlighting its potential in treating chronic and acute diseases through the use of stem cells, particularly mesenchymal and hematopoietic stem cells. These therapies showed promise in addressing conditions like leukemia, autoimmune diseases, and urinary problems. However, the application of RMT faced challenges such as ethical concerns regarding embryonic stem cells, tumor development, and rejection. Despite these limitations, progress was being made to overcome these issues, suggesting potential significant advancements in disease management. The review also compared Malaysia's developments in RMT with those in other Asian countries.
