TLDR Tazarotene gel may be more effective for acne than adapalene gel.
This randomized controlled trial compares the efficacy of 0.05% tazarotene gel to 0.1% adapalene gel in treating facial acne vulgaris in 146 patients aged 12-35 years. Participants are divided into two groups, each receiving one of the gels alongside azithromycin for 12 weeks. Effectiveness is assessed using the Global Acne Scoring system with follow-ups every four weeks. Preliminary findings suggest that tazarotene may be more effective and result in lower disease severity than adapalene. The study is ongoing and aims to identify more effective and tolerable topical treatments for acne.
