Quality of Life Assessment in Male Patients with Androgenetic Alopecia

    Manoj K. Chaudhary, Sudha Agrawal
TLDR Androgenetic alopecia affects men's emotions more than symptoms or daily function.
This study assessed the quality of life (QoL) in 176 male patients with androgenetic alopecia (AGA) using the Hair specific Skindex-29. The majority of participants (79.55%) were under 35 years old, and 61.36% had a family history of AGA. The results showed that patients were more affected emotionally than symptomatically and functionally, with emotional scores being the highest. The study highlights the importance for health professionals to evaluate QoL in AGA patients to provide better care.
